The new Democratic tactic: run, hide and cry

I have to ask this question: What kind of messages are Democrats sending Black people, in particular youth, these days in times of debate and being outnumbered? Let’s start with Brother Keith Ellison. Keith must have learned a lot from hanging out with Hillary Clinton. I call it the Clinton tears-to-get-my-way doctrine.

Visualize with me: Out yonder in Washington, the chair of the Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Peter King, was conducting a meeting. The subject was “The Radicalization of Muslims in America.” Ellison’s response was to call the meeting nothing more than the stereotyping and scapegoating of Muslims.

Dang it. Wouldn’t you know it? The old-school technique that has worked for years failed to give Ellison the victory. Thus, Rep. King fired back (I’m paraphrasing) that the political correctness Ellison was attempting was an abdication of what he believed to be the main responsibility of Homeland Security.

Ellison shifted to another tactic of failed power. At one point, Ellison must have thought, “Gotta do something quick.” Instead of asking, “What would Jesus do?” Ellison asked, “What would Hillary do?” Realizing that King had other defenders on the committee who stood firmly on the matter, Ellison started crying.

Yes, Ellison cried like Hillary did when she was taking a butt-kicking from Obama. Man, I saw pictures in the press, clips on TV, etc. This is not the kind of Black man I want my little ones to emulate. When the going gets tough on the football field, in class debates, on your job, wherever, you get up and walk out crying like a baby.

This amounted to retreat. Is this the kind of image we want for Black men? Don’t get me wrong, there is a time for Black men to cry. But not on national television. Not during a public debate because you are out-classed, outnumbered and ill-prepared.

Let me continue: Democrats in Wisconsin, being outnumbered, are on the run, running out of the state, hiding, crying, feeling helpless. All because of being outnumbered in the Wisconsin House by Republicans supporting Gov. Walker’s plan to reform the unions.

These cowards attempted to force Gov. Walker to meet with them (the run-and-hide Democrats) somewhere between Wisconsin and Illinois. The Republicans in a kind way told the Democrats where to go.

Here is my point: If you had a job, left that job, and did not tell your boss where you were at, would you have that job upon returning? What is the message Democrats are sending your child? When Republicans are in control, run, hide and cry. When the going gets tough, when you are ill-prepared, run, hide and cry.

All over this great country, it appears Democrats are acting like children afraid of the bully on the playground. When you see trouble coming, the message of retreat, hide and cry is being made known as the new tactic of the Democrat leader. This is embarrassing, and the Black community ought not to have anything to do with it.

Like Ellison, what if King, Jackson, Bond, Evers, Rosa Parks, Vernon Johns and others would have run, remained in hiding, and got up and walked out in tears during confrontation and debate? I will ask you to draw your own conclusion to this question.

Do not allow your children to accept this run, hide and cry proclivity. To do so would amount to shame of the young Black man. Ellison, be prepared and argue your point. Getting up and walking out crying is not acceptable.

This loving advice is coming from a Black conservative. Black women want to see strong Black men during this time of Republican control. Running, hiding and crying because one is ill-prepared, outnumbered, or has no other intellectual option is not what Black women want their children to emulate.

I am asking all you Black Democrats to remember and understand the love I am trying to project.
