2016 MPRB SWIMMING LESSON SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Description: The MPRB Swimming Scholarship program is for low income families who are Minneapolis residents. Children who receive free or reduced lunch program in school meet the qualifications. Parent or guardian receives a special coupon code from MPRB or PFP and uses it when registering their child through the MPRB registration software www.minneapolisparks.org or at any recreation center. The coupon code gives a $50.00 discount and the participant pays $5.00 for the lesson. For more information contact: aquatics@minneapolisparks.org.
Swimming Lesson Information:
Locations:
Nokomis Main Beach, Wirth Beach, Lupient Waterpark, North Commons Waterpark, and **Webber Pool. Each location will host 4 – two week sessions.
Session dates:
Session 1 – June 20- July 01
Session 2 – July 11- July 22
Session 3 – July 25- Aug. 05
Session 4 – Aug. 08- Aug. 19
Days/ schedule:
Monday– Thursday week 1
Monday– Thursday week 2
Fridays are reserved for make- up days due to inclement weather.
**Webber will operate lessons Tuesday– Friday with an inclement weather day on Saturday.
Swimming Lesson Cost:
Resident fee: $55
Non- resident fee: $65 (note: only Minneapolis residents qualify for scholarships)
