“Turning 75 years old is no joke,” quipped Lilene Elizabeth (Liz) Moore, as she enjoyed the companionship of friends and family at her 75th birthday party. The party was given by her three children, Ernest, Delphine, and LaVonne on August 21, 2016 at the Bremer Way Condominiums Community Room in North Minneapolis.
Her guests enjoyed wonderful food, and entertainment. Nothando Zulu, celebrated storyteller and founder and president on the MN Chapter of the National Alliance of Black Storyteller, gave a wonderful performance, which kept the group engaged and laughing for quite some time. Yolanda McIntosh helped her celebrate with a stunning praise dance performance that the entire crowd enjoyed.
Quite a few out of town friends and relatives were present. Cousins Darrell and Ivan Carter from Des Moines, IA, and cousins Bobby and Calma Phillips from Kansas City, MO were present. Also, several sisters in Christ: Delores McDonald, Dorethia Martin, Daisy Gordon, Clementine Sago and Dollie Williams, all from Chicago, Illinois, and Patricia Gary from Robbins, Illinois attended.
Liz was very grateful for all that attended. She thanked them for their presence and the many wonderful gifts, including the momentary contributions that she received. She was also appreciative to her brother Alphonzo Knox, and her dear faithful friend Catherine Wallace who was instrumental in making the party a success!
A good time was had by all, and Liz reminded all her friends to save the date August 17, 2021 for her 80th birthday celebration!
