Charles E. Scroggins, age 82, from Saint Paul, Minnesota but residing in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on October 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his brother Marvin Scroggins, and one sister, Constance Vassar. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Scroggins, and his former wife Sandy Neal.
Charles had five daughters — Nadine Freeman, Sheryl Bell, Ms. Kim McCall, Charlene Scroggins and Rosalind Blake — and one son, Charles Eskridge.
His grandchildren are Steven, Sparkle, Genia, La Roy, Nataya, Michael, Marcus, Matthew, Felicia, Jamar, Brittanie, Anthony, Alisa, Janaya, Ashlee and Damaien. He also had 15 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by nieces Roxanne and Judy Scroggins; nephews Marvin Scroggins, Gerry Scroggins, Stephen Scroggins, James Vassar, Darrel Vassar and Thomas Vassar; daughter-in-law Tatjana, son-in-law Zedrick Blake; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Charles had his family business, Charlie’s Superette, off of Emerson and Plymouth in North Minneapolis. He also was #1 in football and track and field at Mechanic Arts High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Charles served in the United State Air Force. He served his country well. May he rest in peace.
