Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars performed live at the Amsterdam Bar & Hall, 6 W. 6th Street in St. Paul on February 10 to help raise funds so Books For Africa (BFA) can ship 22,000 school books to Sierra Leone in West Africa.

Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars was formed in 1997 in the Kalia Refugee Camp in Guinea, which borders Sierra Leone, by refugees who had fled their war-ravaged country. The All Stars say they “have risen like a phoenix out of the ashes of war and enflamed the passions of their fans across the globe with their uplifting songs of hope, faith and joy.”
The All Stars have performed around the world and are one of Africa’s top touring and recording bands.
