Daniel Oturu — the 6’8” junior and University of Minnesota commit — scored 21 of 38 points in the second half to lead Cretin Derham Hall to a 71-61 victory over Lakeville North to help the Raiders capture third place honors in the Class 4A state boys’ basketball tournament last month.
The forward also had 18 rebounds and five blocks. Junior point guard Ryan Larson added 18 points as Cretin Derham Hall got outstanding contributions from junior forwards Jake Prince and Sy Chatman, junior guards Charlie Dennis and Jaylen Newton, senior guard Michael Carter Jr., and sophomore guard Jaedon King.
Oturu was named to the all-tournament team.
