Columbia Heights completes fourth place tournament run

Columbia Heights — making its first Class 3A state tournament appearance since

2011 — placed fourth in this year’s tournament behind the outstanding play of junior

forward Wendell Mathews, Quintin Hardrict, senior guard Khadeem Thomas, and sophomore forward Jarvis Wright.

The Hylanders defeated Fergus Falls (77-74) before losing to DeLaSalle (86-60) and Marshall (83-37). Mathews was named to the all-tournament team.
