Misdemeanor Warrant Forgiveness Day at Sabathani Community Center

In collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Minnesota, Hennepin County District Courts, Hennepin County Public Defenders, Minneapolis City Attorneys and United Way, the Criminal Justice Reform Committee of the Minneapolis Branch of NAACP will host a day where people with active misdemeanor (petty and gross) warrants in Hennepin County will have a free opportunity to resolve the warrant and the underlying offense without getting arrested.

When: Saturday, May 20, 10 am to 4 pm

Where: Sabathani Community Center, 310 E. 38th Street, Minneapolis, Minn.

Such persons will also have the opportunity to meet with a public defender and a prosecutor to resolve their case. It may take up to an hour to meet with an attorney and to see the judge. After that, if community service is accepted, it may take another two to four hours to complete the work.

Settlements may include:

  • Community service work at or near the event
  • Receiving time to pay a fine
  • Scheduling a future court date
