‘Significant Six’ prep stars of the week

This week’s “Significant Six” features six players – Aja Wheeler, Kierra Wheeler, Jada Buford, Ja’Hyia Gaston, Ty’Neecia Longs and Andrea Tribble – who helped Robbinsdale Cooper capture their first-ever Class AAA state girls’ basketball title last week with a 49-37 victory over Northfield. They were led by Kiara Buford, a two-time state champion as a player for St. Paul Central (2007, 2008) and four-year starter for the University of Minnesota.
