Minneapolis City Council Member Andrea Jenkins is set to kick off the first in a series of monthly conversations exploring citywide issues affecting area residents.
Dubbed “Afternoons with Andrea,” the first event will feature a lunchtime conversation at the Seward Co-op Friendship Store centered on the proposed draft of the Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan, equitable development, and anti-displacement strategies.
Guest speakers at the June 22 kick-off event include Gary Cunningham, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Economic Development Association and Metropolitan Council Member for District 7, and Shannon Jones, executive director of Hope Community, Inc.
Minneapolis Planning staff will join in the conversation to address how to understand key elements of the 2040 Plan, along with the City’s engagement process, and how to submit input by the draft’s July 22 deadline. Attendees will also be able to ask questions and provide comments.
