The Philando Castile Relief Foundation celebrated Restoration Day and Unity Day (July 6 and 7) to commemorate the shooting death of Philando Castile in 2016.
Castile’s mother Valerie said the two-day celebration in his honor “means the world to me.” The activities included a candlelight vigil at the memorial site on Larpenteur Avenue in St. Paul where Castile was shot, along with a community barbecue.
