
Joanne E. Johnson, of Pequot Lakes, passed away August 17, 2019, at age 87. She was a phenomenal daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Joanne worked in human resources for U.S. Bank. She was a founding member of the Cantinos Choir, a city council member, and deputy mayor for the City of Pequot Lakes.
She was preceded in death by loving husband Everett Johnson; parents James and Opal Fraction; siblings Jimmy Fraction, Bill Fraction, Carl (Celeste) Fraction, and Michael Nerburn.
She is survived by sister Marilyn Robinson; brother Ronald (Patricia) Fraction; sisters-in-law Ellen Johnson, Anna McClinton and Gertrude Foster, and Gwen Fraction; children Valarie Johnson McCullar, Michael (Laurie) Johnson, Jennifer (Kevin) Whitlock, Bruce (Renee) Johnson and Gregory (Michelle) Johnson; grandchildren Jason, Jonathan, Jaraux (Willie), Sean (Kelly), Allysia (Nathan), Tony (Abby), Aurora (Kyle), Kevon, Devin, Maya, Breanna, Connor, Nicholas, and Brylea; great-grandchildren, Boston, Kayli, Tyrus, Trey, Jalen, Marissa, Jordan, Alaya, Jazzaeya, Austin, Mahlia, Shéa, Etta, Ermias, and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
The funeral service takes place Monday, August 26, 11 am, at St. Peter’s A.M.E. Church, 401 E. 41st Street, Minneapolis. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at 10 am.
