The Gophers were defeated by DePaul despite strong play by sophomore center Daniel Oturu. Guard Charlie Moore scored 21 points and teammates Paul Reed and Jaylen Coleman-Lands each added 11 leading DePaul University to a 73-68 nonconference men’s basketball victory of the University of Minnesota on Friday, Nov. 29 at Williams Arena.
The Gophers (3-4), led by Oturu’s 19 points and 18 rebounds, made their runs but the Blue Demons (8-0) found a way to respond each time the game got close. Payton Willis had 16 for Minnesota, Alihan Demir 14 and Gabe Kalscheur chipped in 11.
