The outstanding play of sophomores Marcus Carr, Daniel Oturu (Cretin-Derham Hall) and Gabe Kalscheur (DeLaSalle) led the University of Minnesota men’s basketball team to an 84- 71 victory over No.3-ranked Ohio State University before an energized crowd at Williams arena Sunday evening, Dec. 15.

Carr, a point guard, had a career-high 35 points and seven assists for the Gophers (5-5, 1-1 Big Ten) Oturu added 14 points and 13 rebounds from his center position and Kalscheur contributed 15 points to show why he is one of the top shooting guards in the Big Ten.

The Buckeyes (9-1, 1-1 Big Ten) were led by D.J. Carton’s 19 points. E.J. Liddell had 14 and Kaleb Wesson chipped in 12.
