As the sport of volleyball increases in diversity, here are five former metro-area standouts who have experienced success in the sport at the collegiate level.

Taylor Morgan, a middle blocker who starred at Blaine high school, recorded 216 kills and 141 blocks, earning second-team All-Big 10 honors and leading the University of Minnesota to the NCAA Final Four for the third time in four years.

Jasmyn Martin, a junior outside hitter from Hopkins High School who transferred from the University of Minnesota to Florida State University, helped the Seminoles reach the NCAA tournament after recording 208 kills and 160 blocks.

Brie Orr, a junior setter who starred at Eagan High School, was outstanding this season after garnering 783 assists and 67 kills for the University of Iowa.

Gabby McCaa, a freshman middle blocker and right-side hitter from St. Louis Park High School, had 51 kills and 43 blocks in her first season at Boston College.

Lauren Clark, a freshman outside hitter at Penn State University, had 44 kills for the Nittany Lions this past season. She led Champlain Park High School to the Class 3A state tournament championship in 2018.
