The Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder (MSR) hosted a spirited virtual town hall featuring voices from the community and government to discuss the state of Black Minnesota in the midst of civil unrest and demands for systemic overhaul following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.

Featured speakers include Nekima Levy Armstrong, Racial Justice Network; Jaylani Hussein, CAIR-MN; Andrea Jenkins, Minneapolis City Council; Miski Noor, Black Visions Collective; Leslie Redmond, NAACP; and Mel Reeves, MSR. Former MSR EIC and Sadiaa Founder Stephenetta Harmon served as moderator.

The town hall focused on their work, recommendations, and calls to action to end police violence, along with next steps for the community. Stephenetta Harmon, former MSR editor-in-chief and founder Sadiaa, will moderate the discussion.

Watch a recording of the live stream above. Stay tuned for details about the next virtual MSR town hall.
