Tune in as MSR Forefront continues its series of discussions about the 38th & Chicago intersection, the newly named George Perry Floyd, Jr. Place in South Minneapolis.
Since the police killing of George Floyd in May, the memorial site on 38th & Chicago has been a gathering space for the community, intersecting collective grief, anger, healing, and the reimaging of a better future for the area and city as a whole.
For the series kick-off, host Stephenetta Harmon spoke to Minneapolis City Council Vice President Andrea Jenkins about the longstanding challenges in the area and her vision for the neighborhood.
Next, we’ll discuss issues of public safety and community policing with longtime community activist Steve Floyd, senior advisor of The Agape Movement. Watch the premiere on Thursday, October 15 at 6 pm on MSR’s Facebook or YouTube pages.
