University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians) earlier this week opened its newly relocated Broadway Family Medicine Clinic. The clinic has been a North Minneapolis fixture for more than 40 years and is now relocated at the northeast corner of Broadway and 26th avenues where CVS was formerly located.
The new clinic space has been designed to foster an environment of learning and togetherness.
“Although we have moved locations less than two miles away from our previous site, we retain our ability to serve patients in the North Minneapolis community,” said Oren Avrey, clinic manager at the M Physicians Broadway Family Medicine Clinic. “The clinic is meant to be a place of discussion, education, comfort, and community.”
According to Avery the new location includes a multi-purpose community room that can be used to host community events and is in close proximity to multiple transit stations and North Memorial Hospital.
The new location includes artwork created by local artists, which will be displayed throughout the space.
“The North Minneapolis community is an integral part of who we are as Broadway Family Medicine,” said Kathryn Justesen, family medicine physician at the M Physicians Broadway Family Medicine Clinic. “The new space offers countless opportunities to engage with the community and helps us carry out our mission to provide exceptional health care to our community and top-of-the-line education to our residents.”
The new facility also has a dedicated teaching space for residents and trainees. In partnership with North Memorial Hospital, the clinic will continue to be home to the University of Minnesota Medical School’s North Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program. The goal of this new space is to enhance teachable moments, in hopes that they happen organically and frequently.
