If you missed MNsure’s Dec. 22, 2020 deadline to enroll in an insurance plan, you’re in luck. MNsure recently announced the opening of a three-month special enrollment period to help any Minnesotan not currently enrolled through MNsure secure health insurance coverage.
“If you are uninsured, or have coverage outside of MNsure, you can come to MNsure.org between February 16 and May 17 to enroll in a health insurance plan,” MNsure CEO Nate Clark said. “COVID-19 is still with us, so having access to comprehensive health care coverage is critical at this time.”
MNsure’s extended enrollment period is in response to the Biden-Harris administration’s executive order issued last week that established a special enrollment period for Americans to sign up for the federal health exchange. According to the administration, the order is intended to answer the immense health care needs of Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you experience a qualifying life event, qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, or are a member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, you can enroll through MNsure at any time of the year.
How to Apply: Go here when the special enrollment period begins.
