As thousands of people strolled into the Chicago Mall on 2nd Street in downtown Minneapolis to find the best spot to view the first post-pandemic Minneapolis Aquatennial Fireworks, one couldn’t help but notice the vibrant presence of African American vendors lining the entrance.
It was a beautiful sight to see the small Black businesses featured in the City of Lakes Market with high-quality goods and services eager to sell and interact with the public. As I took photos of them, I asked about their products and was impressed with their knowledge and enthusiasm.
