
The Mayo Clinic will explore vaccine hesitancy and skepticism in the Black community with an upcoming webinar titled, “(Mis)trust in the COVID-19 vaccine in the African American Community,” on Saturday, August 28 at 12 pm CST.
The forum will offer an expert panel discussion centered on the Delta variant and its repercussions, as well as important myths and facts related to COVID-19 and the newly FDA-approved Pfizer vaccine and other vaccines.
The panel includes Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, who was a researcher and the scientific lead at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Vaccine Research Center (VRC) prior to joining Harvard.
Dr. Corbett led the development of the Moderna vaccine. Additional panelists include Dr. LaPrincess Brewer, Mayo Clinic, Dr. Chyke Doubeni, Mayo Clinic, and Dr. Pernessa Seele, CEO of The Balm in Gilead, Inc.
