East Ridge defeats Woodbury

Senior running back Toby Anene scored first on a 37-yard touchdown in the opening quarter and junior backfield mate Jacob Schroeder scored from 1-yard out and added a two-point conversion at the 2:17 mark of the final period leading East Ridge (3-2) to a 15-14 prep football victory over Woodbury (4-1) before a capacity crowd at Woodbury High School Friday evening October 1, 2021.

The Royals, after two touchdown receptions from seniors Joe Mahoney and Joey Gerlach, led 14-7 in the third quarter before Schroeder’s heroics. Woodbury came into the game undefeated and ranked No. 9 in Class 6A.
