
Shooting guard Anthony Edwards and center Karl-Anthony Towns led the Minnesota
Timberwolves to a 124-106 victory over the Houston Rockets in the NBA season
opener for both teams on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Target Center.
Towns finished with 30 points, Edwards had 29, and point guard D’Angelo Russell added 22 to lead Minnesota. Christian Wood’s 16 points, Eric Gordon’s 15, and 11 apiece from Daniel Theis, Kevin Porter Jr., and Alperen Sengun led Houston.
Former Champlain Park High School and University of Colorado point guard McKinley Wright IV
scored on a three-pointer in the final period for Minnesota.
