Snow emergencies issued in the Twin Cities

Snow emergencies have been declared for both St. Paul and Minneapolis. Parking restrictions begin at 9 pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. 

Crews can only plow the full width of the street if cars are out of the way. Follow snow emergency parking rules for each city to avoid being ticketed and tagged. See below for more details.

Minneapolis

9 pm – Tuesday, Nov. 29 to 8 am Wednesday, Nov. 30 (Day 1)
Do not park on either side of a Snow Emergency route until 8 a.m., or the street is fully plowed.

8 am to 8 pm – Wednesday, Nov. 30 (Day 2)
Do not park on the even-numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency route until 8 pm, or that side of the street is fully plowed, or on either side of a parkway until 8 pm, or the parkway is fully plowed.

8 am to 8 pm – Thursday, Dec. 1 (Day 3)
Do not park on the odd-numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency route until 8 pm, or that side of the street is fully plowed.

St. Paul

Beginning today at 9 pm on Tues., Nov. 29, 2022, all Night Plow Routes will be plowed. Do not park on Night Plow Routes, which include all of downtown and streets with signs posted “Night Plow Route” and “Night Plow Route This Side of the Street.” Vehicles that are not moved from Night Plow Routes by 9 pm on Nov. 29, will be ticketed and towed.

Beginning tomorrow at 8 am on Wednes.,  Nov. 30, all Day Plow Routes will be plowed. Do not park on Day Plow Routes. Day Plow Routes are not marked by signs. If there are no Night Plow signs posted within the block, then consider it a Day Plow Route. Vehicles that are not moved from Day Plow Routes by 8 am on Nov. 30, will be ticketed and towed.  For more on St. Paul’s snow emergency rules, go here.
