In the wake of the massive snowfall this week, Minneapolis officials have declared a one-day snow emergency.
The one-day snow emergency parking rules begin tonight, Friday, Feb. 24 at 9 pm until Saturday, Feb. 25 at 8 am.
During this time, drivers are not to park on EITHER side of a Snow Emergency route until 8 am or the street is fully plowed.
On Saturday, Feb. 25 at 8 am, Winter Parking Restrictions will resume. Parking will then be banned on the EVEN numbered side of non-Snow-Emergency routes until April 1, unless conditions allow the City to lift the ban earlier.
Crews can only plow the full width of the street if cars are out of the way. Please follow Snow Emergency parking rules or your vehicle will be tagged and/or towed to the Minneapolis Impound Lot. City officials are also reminding residents to be sure to shovel their sidewalks and around their garbage and recycling carts.
