Valaida “Viki” Aleta Felder, born December 7, 1935, in St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away on October 13, 2023, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Leona Montague, her children Robert “Robin” (or “Rahbyn”) Cox, III, and Leslie Cox, and her grandson Robert “Leuncol” Cox, IV.
Viki, a warm-hearted and creative soul, had a colorful personality and a joyful spirit. She had a heart for helping others and loved working as a nurse in the St. Paul hospitals.
She later ventured into real estate, providing quality homes to many in the Twin Cities metro area.
Viki also served as a teaching assistant in St. Paul middle schools and counseled vulnerable adults, helping to equip them with vital life skills.
In her leisure time, Viki found joy in painting, gourmet cooking, gardening, fishing, boat rides, and watching Christian programming. She was also a faithful member of the Minneapolis chapter of the Royal Red Hat Sabathanettes.
Viki leaves to cherish her memory her sister Elaine (Roosevelt) Elliott, daughter Alecia “Wendy” Cox, daughter-in-love Terri (Eric) Garnett, grandchildren Anthony (Karen) McDonald, Aleta “Rahlla” Cox, TeNaya (Chris) Rhines, Armand (Kaicee) McDonald, and Albert Cox, four great-grandchildren, nephew Guy Elliott, niece Paige Elliott, and a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 30, public viewing will be at 11 a.m., and the service at 12 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Nokomis Park Chapel, 1838 E. Minnehaha Parkway in Minneapolis.
