
James “Jim” Allen Cook, Sr., passed away peacefully on June 24 in Minneapolis at the age of 80, surrounded by family. James is preceded in death by siblings Charles, Lewis, and Madeline, and parents Dollather and James Ray.
James is survived by his long-time partner, Dee Henry Williams; sons James Jr. (Happy) and Robinson (Paula); grandchildren Minnesota and January; former spouse Alternier; siblings Dorothy, Richard, and Cathy; and many nieces and nephews.
After a successful career at IBM, James founded Quality House International, Urban Marketing Channels, and the community organizations Amen Corner and Communities of Light.
Funeral services: Sat., July 20, at 11 a.m. at Estes Funeral Home, Mpls., followed by a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Services will be live-streamed at estesfuneralchapel.com.
