A tense scene unfolded Thursday afternoon, Aug. 15, in St. Paul as police worked to convince a woman not to jump from an overpass on Pascal St. between Concordia and St. Anthony Ave. The incident happened shortly after 2 p.m.

The officer on the scene said the woman was acting despondent until officers urged her not to jump. “When you’re on the other side of that fence that’s a tough place to be,” the officer said.ย

The woman was eventually taken by fire and rescue to the hospital for an evaluation and westbound traffic on I-94 was re-opened.
