We are thrilled to share that Fox 9 News recently visited the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder (MSR) to celebrate our 90th Anniversary! As Minnesotaโs oldest Black-owned and Black-operated newspaper, this milestone reflects nearly a century of commitment to amplifying the voices of the African American community.
During the segment, Fox 9 News interviewed our CEO and Publisher, Tracey Williams-Dillard, who spoke passionately about the paperโs legacy and the importance of preserving the rich history that began with her grandfather, Cecil E. Newman, back in 1934. Tracey also highlighted the MSRโs ongoing mission to provide relevant and timely news to the Black community while embracing the future of journalism.
This feature offers a wonderful glimpse into how the MSR has impacted Minnesota over the years and celebrates the many accomplishments that have shaped our community.
