
Cam’Ron Ransom went 22-of-31 for 382 yards, three touchdowns, 105 rushing yards, and a score in only his third start of the season for Bethune-Cookman. This impressive performance earned him SWAC Offensive Player of the Week honors this week.
Grambling State’s Brenden Barley (Defensive), Florida A&M’s Cameron Gilles (Specialist), and Texas Southern’s Quintell Quinn (Newcomer) earned weekly honors, the conference announced Monday.
Barley leads the nation with three interceptions, snatching one in GSU’s past three games. Last Saturday, he added seven tackles, four solo, and his pick against Jackson State.
Gillis made all four of his field goal attempts last Saturday against Troy (22, 29, 31 and 43 yards).
Quinn, in his first career start, averaged 6.5 yards per carry and finished with 149 yards on 23 carries against Lamar.

Four North Carolina Central players head this week’s conference honors.
QB Walker Harris (Offensive Player of the Week) completed 16-of-23 passes for 272 yards and three TDs in the 66-24 win over NC A&T last Saturday. He also rushed for a touchdown in the victory.
Fellow signal caller Jaylen Martin (Rookie of the Week) had his first career touchdown pass (46 yards) last Saturday. AC McMoore (Offensive Lineman of the Week) graded a 91 with five pancake blocks. Juan Velarde (Specialist of the Week) had three punts for 108 yards, including a 42-yarder.
Daylan Long (Norfolk State) was named Defensive Player of the Week as the defensive back recorded his team’s first pick for a touchdown since 2019. He had four solo tackles and a pass breakup last week.
