When I was 12 years old, I entered a costume contest at the Mall of America dressed as the first woman president of the United States. I won the contest, but I didn’t know if I would ever see a woman president in my lifetime—let alone a woman of color.

Now, I’m 27 years old, and I voted for Kamala Harris to become that historic woman.
