As the holiday season approaches, communities across the Twin Cities are reminded of the power of unity and giving. This Thanksgiving, former University of Minnesota Men’s Basketball standout Willie Burton is proving that greatness extends beyond the court with his inaugural All-Star Giveback, an initiative dedicated to providing 1,000 holiday meals to families in need.

Scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2024, the event will take place at four pivotal locations across Minneapolis and St. Paul:

With the support of partners such as Jennie-O and Second Harvest Heartland, All-Star Giveback will distribute meal kits that include a turkey and ingredients for a complete Thanksgiving dinner. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with the meal distribution, ensuring that families not only receive food but also a renewed sense of hope and togetherness.

For Willie Burton, this event is about more than just addressing hunger—it’s about fostering a community spirit. “This time of year is about gratitude, and we’re thrilled to bring people together and give back to the neighborhoods that shaped so many of us,” Burton shared.

The All-Star Giveback, in its first year, is part of a broader mission to create impactful, community-based programs that uplift and support families facing challenges.

Let’s celebrate and support this remarkable effort as Willie Burton and his team bring the community together to ensure no table is empty this Thanksgiving.

For families in need, this event is open to all—stop by one of the locations this Saturday and share in the joy of giving.
