Minneapolis is preparing for a vibrant celebration of art and community spirit this weekend with the launch of a transformative cultural event series. The inaugural activation, led by local artist and community advocate KingDemetrius Pendleton, marks the beginning of an ambitious project aimed at uniting the 38th Street Cultural District through creativity and collaboration.

The 38th Street Cultural District holds a significant place in Minneapolis’s history and identity. This corridor has long been a hub of cultural exchange, activism, and artistic innovation, deeply rooted in the experiences and expressions of the Black community. Over the years, it has become a canvas for public art, a platform for social justice, and a space where creativity meets community resilience.

Taking place Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Listen 2 Us Studio, 3730 Chicago Avenue South, Studio C, Minneapolis, MN, the event will feature art, bites, and powerful conversations. Attendees are encouraged to come hungry for good food and a chance to engage in meaningful dialogue. This initiative, a partnership between Pendleton and Minneapolis Ward 8, aims to elevate local artistic talent while fostering deeper connections within the community.

Listen 2 Us Studio is part of Listen Media USA, an organization founded by KingDemetrius Pendleton, known for its commitment to amplifying community voices and supporting cultural projects that drive positive change.

Adding to the excitement, the event will showcase a Featured Artist: Uche Iroegbu, known for his evocative photography that captures the essence of urban life and community stories.
