The community is coming together as the family of an 18-year-old man fatally shot in south Minneapolis last week seeks support to cover his funeral expenses. Tedrick Lamount Lamar Davis was tragically shot on the 2500 block of Ogema Place on Tuesday evening, where he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to his head, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
The incident has left a void not only in his family but also in the hearts of all who knew him. The cause and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and as of now, no arrests have been made in the case.
In response to the overwhelming outpouring of love and support from friends and community members, Tedrick’s family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral expenses. The fundraiser, which began as a way to cope with their immense loss, has already garnered $1,975 of its $10,000 goal.

Tedrick was remembered as someone who had a unique ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and joyful presence. His love for children was profound, with family members describing how he was fiercely protective of his sisters and cherished his role as a brother, son, uncle, and friend.
“Tedrick could light up a room like no other. He had the biggest smile that captivated the hearts of many. Tedrick’s love for kids was unmatched and genuine,” his family shared.
