This ceremony reflects the rich cultural roots of Kwanzaa, creating a space for reflection, connection, and joy.

Throughout the week, visitors will experience a vibrant array of activities, including:

  • Storytelling sessions highlighting cultural wisdom and history.
  • Youth-led activities fostering the next generationโ€™s engagement with cultural traditions.
  • Performances featuring African drum and dance, showcasing the beauty and energy of the African diaspora.
  • A fashion show and best-dressed contest, encouraging guests to wear African attire and celebrate the elegance and unity of cultural expression.

Kwanzaa is centered on seven principles, with each day of the celebration dedicated to one of these guiding values:

  1. Umoja (Unity)
  2. Kujichagulia (Self-Determination)
  3. Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility)
  4. Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)
  5. Nia (Purpose)
  6. Kuumba (Creativity)
  7. Imani (Faith)

These themes provide a framework for participants to reflect on and affirm their commitment to community-building, cultural preservation, and personal growth.
