โ€œWe are so happy to reveal our new championship logos,โ€ said HBCUAC Commissioner Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes.

Amy Skiles, Phoenix Design Works SVP Business Development, Client Service stated, โ€œI believe we have been able to create some genuinely innovative work for the conference.  Weโ€™re grateful for the experience of working with such a wonderful group!โ€

โ€œAmy, Jamie, and everyone at Phoenix have been wonderful to work with, and Phoenix has been an essential branding partner for us,โ€ added Baker Barnes.

The HBCUAC sponsors championships for six sports, with hopes to increase that number as more member schools are added, noted the press release.  It is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

More HBCUAC honors

Several individuals from HBCUAC member schools as well as Commissioner Baker Barnes have received national recognition lately.

Volleyball outside hitter Reagan Jones was named to the NAIA All-American Team, the first Fisk player to receive that honor since 1988.  Fisk Head Coach Jessica Enderle was named the AVCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year โ€“ she was voted the conference Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons.

Mary Hill, Voorhees (SC) University senior woman leader/director of compliance was honored at this yearโ€™s MEAC Guardians of the Game Awards Reception, which recognizes influential individuals who have made a significant impact in the world of sports.

Commissioner Baker Barnes was recently named โ€œone of the most influential, involved, and inspiring business leaders in New Orleans,โ€ by Biz New Orleans magazine in their annual New Orleans 500 publication.  The HBCUAC leader, among a handful of Black female commissioners in college sports, also will be honored during Super Bowl week at the 2025 Sports Power Brunch as the Spotlight Award Honoree.
