“I would say it really comes from not being able to help my grandparents, them being in a different state as they aged, and just not being able to care for them the way I wish I could really fuels me to do what I do,” King explained.

Donald, who was diagnosed with throat and neck cancer, spent 45 days in the hospital and endured several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Donald shared, “I thought I had strep throat and it was cancer. After being diagnosed, I required a lot of help with bathing. It’s really important. I have family, but you don’t want family seeing you at your lowest. At least I didn’t.”
King, who is approved by the Minnesota Department of Health, goes above and beyond traditional spa treatments. She’s been traveling to homes, offering bathing assistance to those with limited mobility, and in Donald’s case, she’s helped restore not just her client’s physical appearance but her sense of well-being.
“I feel like a million dollars. I might be 18 again,” Donald said. “I love it, I love it.”

King’s service is transforming lives one bath at a time. Donald described King’s approach, saying, “She came in with her gentle hands and rub down, and it didn’t bother her. It was more of, ‘I am here to help you. I want you to get back on the level where you were.’ I am like wow.”
Haneefah King, who has seen firsthand the effects of immobility on the skin, explained that proper care can prevent serious conditions like bed sores. “A lot of times the skin is caked up on their bodies. I know what taking care of it will do, like people not being turned over properly, you get bed sores and things like that. I think just having someone come in and exfoliate the skin is a good thing to do.”
As King’s business grows, so do the requests for her services. She hopes to expand her team, ensuring more people can access the care they need to stay healthy and independent.
“A lot of people don’t want to live in assisted living. They want to remain in their own homes as much as they can, so this helps them stay independent,” King said.
