The Mill City Museum in downtown Minneapolis is reaching for the stars and asking for community support as it vies for the title of the Nationโ€™s Best History Museum in USA TODAYโ€™s 10 Best Readersโ€™ Choice travel awards.

This marks the museumโ€™s third consecutive nomination, and this time, itโ€™s ready to claim the top spot.

Mill City Museum isnโ€™t just a place; itโ€™s a storyโ€”a story rooted in the grit and growth of Minneapolis, the Mississippi River, and the groundbreaking flour industry that fueled the cityโ€™s rise. Visitors can explore this rich history through interactive exhibits, breathtaking views from the Koch Rooftop Observation Deck, and even works from local artists. Itโ€™s a place where the past and the present meet to inspire the future.

โ€œThis recognition is a testament to the incredible work our staff does to tell Minneapolisโ€™ story,โ€ said Mill City Museum Site Manager David Stevens. โ€œWeโ€™re grateful for the communityโ€™s support and believe this could be our year to take the top prize.โ€

The museum invites everyone to vote online daily until 11 a.m. CST on February 10. Every vote counts toward securing the honor of being named the best in the nation.

Cast your vote here and use the hashtag #MCMTop10 to rally support on social media.

Beyond the vote, Mill City Museum is a treasure for history lovers of all ages. It offers walking tours, family events, and free exhibits in the Mill Commons area. Built within the ruins of the Washburn A Millโ€”once the largest flour mill in the world and a National Historic Landmarkโ€”the museum preserves the story of how Minneapolis became the flour milling capital of the world.

This year, letโ€™s help Mill City Museum make history again. Your vote could make all the difference in shining a spotlight on one of Minneapolisโ€™ most beloved cultural gems.
