State-accredited program expands access to safety training
A state-accredited community safety program, Immersive Violence Prevention Training (IVPT), is now available at no cost to participants.
Thanks to funding from the Hennepin County Office of Community Safety Partners and The Minneapolis Foundationโs Safer Communities Initiative, IVPT aims to provide life-saving skills and legal safety education to a broader audience.

Breaking financial barriers to safety
โOur goal is to eliminate financial barriers that prevent community members from accessing essential safety skills,โ said Hassan Q. As-Sidiq, founder and chief legacy builder of Black Community Board MN. โWith this support, we hope to empower more people with the skills needed to protect themselves and their communities.โ

Community participation needed
Due to recent scheduling changes, IVPT organizers encourage early registration. At least eight participants are required per session to maintain the current schedule. If this target is not met, the program will be rescheduled for April 2025.
IVPT is open to individuals ages 12 and up for Day 1 and ages 20 and up for Day 2.
