Spring is in full bloom, and Sister Spokesman is inviting the community to celebrate the season with flowers, food, and fellowship.
Sisters in Bloom returns on Saturday, April 5, for an uplifting afternoon filled with creativity, conversation, and community. The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. in the Wells Fargo Room at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA).
Advance tickets are requiredโthere will be no ticket sales at the door.
A celebration of floral artistry and Black women creatives

The event features a live floral design demonstration by Jennifer Bevan, Bachmanโs lead floral design facilitator. A San Francisco native with deep roots in floral artistry, Bevan brings years of experience in weddings, special events, and one-of-a-kind arrangements. Her work has been spotlighted in The Knot and Minnesota Bride, and her passion for blooms is matched by her commitment to inspiring others through creativity.
Whether you’re a seasoned floral design enthusiast or simply love the beauty of blossoms, Bevanโs demo promises to be both engaging and unforgettable.
An afternoon of community, creativity and giveaways
Guests will enjoy a light lunch and an interactive afternoon that includes games, networking, and raffles. A variety of food options will be availableโincluding fruit, salads, desserts and drinksโserved in a welcoming space perfect for connection.
Attendees will also have a chance to win free tickets to the Giants exhibit at MIA, a dynamic collection from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. The exhibition showcases transformative works by African American artists and is a must-see.
