Art lovers, mark your calendars. The Schmidt Spring Art Crawl returns April 25–27, 2025, bringing together creativity, culture, and community in one of Saint Paul’s most iconic spaces. This free, three-day event is a must-visit for anyone looking to connect with local artists and explore the vibrant West 7th Arts District.
A storied venue: the historic Schmidt Brewery
Located at 900 West 7th St., the historic Schmidt Brewery—now home to the Schmidt Artist Lofts—is the heart of the art crawl. Once a bustling brewing facility, the space has been transformed into a creative hub featuring over 80 resident artists. Visitors can wander five levels of the Brewhouse to discover an impressive range of works, from paintings and ceramics to jewelry, photography, glass, and more.

Open Palette on the Rooftop
Watch live art come to life during Open Palette sessions, where artists create new works each hour. Described as an “open mic for visual artists,” this feature offers guests a dynamic, interactive experience. Artists can sign up in advance to participate.

Rathskeller by Mancini’s
Step into the former tasting room, now the Schmidt Rathskeller, operated by Mancini’s. Guests can enjoy food, drinks, and the Gothic charm of this historic space.
41st Annual Congressional Art Competition
The Atrium Gallery will host the prestigious Congressional Art Competition, showcasing artwork by high school students from Minnesota’s Fourth Congressional District.
