Minneapolis artists, creatives and community builders are invited to apply for up to $5,000 in funding through the cityโs Pop-Up Art & Culture Activations Program (ACA)โan initiative designed to support temporary, creative projects that uplift neighborhoods, spark dialogue, and strengthen community connection.
Applications are now open and must be submitted by April 15, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. CST.
Investing in culture, creativity and connection
The ACA program focuses on new, short-term projects that center a creative componentโfrom performance and public art to community storytelling, healing workshops, dance, poetry, and more. The goal is to celebrate the cultural wealth of Minneapolis while addressing real needs like belonging, joy, healing and inclusion.
Each applicant can receive up to $5,000. A total of $15,000 is available per Cultural District, and projects must benefit residents living in or within five blocks of the following districts:
- 38th Street
- Cedar Avenue South
- Central Avenue
- East Lake Street
- Franklin Avenue East
- Lowry Avenue North
- West Broadway
All activations must be free and open to the public.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants include individual artists, art collectives, neighborhood associations, arts organizations and informal groups led by Minnesota residents. Priority will be given to those who live in or near one of the cityโs Cultural Districts.
Proposals will be evaluated based on artistic merit, community impact, innovation, and how well the activation responds to the needs of local residents. Projects may begin as early as June 10, 2025, and must be completed within 12 months.
