#1 New York Times bestselling author and MacArthur “Genius” Fellow Jason Reynolds will visit the Twin Cities for a dynamic afternoon of conversation, storytelling, and intergenerational dialogue on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 1–3 p.m. at the Guthrie Theater’s Wurtele Thrust Stage.
The event is free and open to the public, with registration required. ASL interpretation will be available upon request.
A literary event for all ages
The program will open with a poem by Minneapolis Poet Laureate Junauda Petrus, followed by a rich conversation between Reynolds, acclaimed Minnesota author Shannon Gibney, and two 15-year-old readers, Boisey Corvah and Asher Parks. Together, they will explore themes of identity, truth, and the transformative power of literature.
Known for his ability to capture the emotional landscape of young people—particularly children of color—Reynolds has written more than 20 award-winning books that continue to inspire readers across generations.
