MINNEAPOLIS โ The Cedar Cultural Center is set to host a one-of-a-kind sonic experience as Noise Party celebrates its 10th installment on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:00 p.m., welcoming an all-ages audience into a tapestry of ambient, drone, and experimental sound.
What began as an underground staple at venues like Mortimer’s Bar and Icehouse has now evolved into a celebrated showcase for boundary-pushing audio artists. Noise Party Vol. 10 will feature immersive 30-minute sets by six acts: askSERPENT, Boy Dirt Car, MAKR AN ERIS, Sawtooth Witch, Sophia Deutsch, and White Dune. Each performance will be accompanied by experimental live visuals that transform sound into a full-spectrum sensory experience.
The event is mixed seated and standing, with general admission seating available on a first-come-first-served basis. Special accommodations are available for attendees with access needs through The Cedar’s Access page. Tickets can be purchased online prior to the event at: https://bit.ly/3EK82u5.
A Lineup of Sonic Architects
askSERPENT crafts textured, glitchy sonic terrain using feedback, lo-fi samples, and digitally warped vocals. Boy Dirt Car, veterans of the noise scene since 1981, bring four decades of outsider art and cultural critique to the stage with a legacy linked to the likes of Sonic Youth and Psychic TV.
MAKR AN ERISโa duo composed of Mark McGee and Sophia Erisโmelds โ90s hip-hop nostalgia with alternative flair, teasing tracks from their upcoming project LILITH. Sawtooth Witch (formerly Theyself) blends acoustic melodies with dance-inspired beats, offering a genre-bending journey through indie rock, house, R&B, and pop.
Cellist and composer Sophia Deutsch introduces a haunting, melodic collision between experimental sound and classical technique. Her work, shaped by improvisation and dissonance, returns to the Cedar following her 2022-23 Cedar Commission recognition. Closing out the night, White Duneโdrummer Dave Powerโs electronic alter egoโdelivers IDM and ambient tracks with retro-futuristic vibes.
Noise Party Vol. 10 isnโt just a concert; itโs an immersive experience where traditional music boundaries dissolve and artists are free to create without constraint. For experimental music lovers, curious listeners, and creatives alike, itโs a rare and inspiring night in the Twin Cities soundscape.
