The Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder will host โ€œFive Years After the Murder of George Floyd: A Look at the Past and Where Do We Go from Here?โ€โ€”a public conversation reflecting on Floydโ€™s killing and what progress has (or hasnโ€™t) been made toward justice, equity, and police reform.

Moderated by our very own CEO/Publisher, Tracey Williams-Dillard, the discussion will feature insights from community leaders in law enforcement, criminal justice, civil rights, and education, alongside those directly impacted by police violence.

She is the founder of Black Poetic Justice, a creative platform that blends poetry, activism, and community engagement. Kennedy uses her voice to uplift, inspire, and challenge audiences, making her a prominent figure in the Twin Cities arts scene.

Known MPLS

Music: Known MPLS is a dynamic youth and young adult choir based in Minneapolis, founded by Courtland Pickens in 2019. Known for their powerful performances rooted in gospel and urban music, the group uses music as a tool for healing, unity, and social change. As part of the nonprofit Voicez Inc., Known MPLS uplifts voices and brings communities together through song and purpose-driven artistry.
