On Saturday, September 13, Powderhorn Park will come alive with movement, music, and community as the African American Male Wellness Agency hosts the 2025 Black Men’s Wellness Day – Twin Cities. From 7 a.m. to noon, this free event invites families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate health, unity, and the strength of Black men.
This is more than an event. It is part of a national movement to address health disparities, promote preventative care, and empower Black men and their families to live longer, healthier lives.

Wellness starts here
The day begins at 7 a.m. with registration and free health screenings. From blood pressure checks to more comprehensive exams, healthcare professionals will be on site to help participants understand their current health and take steps toward improvement. Organizers promise it will be “the most fun you will ever have at a doctor’s appointment.”
Fitness, family, and fun
At 9:45 a.m., participants will hit the pavement for a 5K walk/run that welcomes all fitness levels. The Kids Zone will keep young ones engaged with interactive and educational activities to inspire healthy habits early. Seniors can enjoy a dedicated pavilion with wellness resources and activities tailored for them.

A celebration of culture and connection
Live music, entertainment, and community recognitions will keep the energy high throughout the morning. The gathering offers an opportunity to connect, celebrate one another, and leave with practical tools to improve health.
