Stages Theatre Company is inviting audiences of all ages to rediscover the beloved tale of friendship and sacrifice in its new production of Charlotte’s Web. The show runs September 26 through October 26 on the Hopkins Mainstage.

Adapted by Joseph Robinette from E.B. White’s classic novel, the play follows Wilbur, a runt pig who finds love, belonging, and purpose through the kindness of friends on the Arable farm — especially Charlotte, the extraordinary spider whose words written in her web change everything.

A Fresh Spin on a Classic

This production offers something new. Charlotte, portrayed by Evie Digirolamo, won’t just spin words of hope from her web — she’ll do it high above the stage as an aerialist. Her graceful movements transform Charlotte’s iconic web into a breathtaking display, adding visual wonder to the story’s emotional heart.

Young Talent at the Center

The youth cast features Cecilia Anderson as Wilbur, Elin Berg as Fern, and Siobhan Hellendrung as Templeton, alongside an ensemble of young performers who bring the farmyard to life. The adult cast includes Grant Hooyer as Zuckerman and John Arable, with Digirolamo anchoring the production as Charlotte.

More Than a Children’s Story

Directed by Anna Crace and produced under the leadership of Artistic Director Sandy Boren-Barrett, the show runs about 60 minutes and is recommended for all ages.

Charlotte’s Web is a story about friendship, loss, and what it means to live a life of meaning,” said Boren-Barrett. “This production honors the book’s heart while offering something visually unforgettable for today’s audiences.”
