In a world that rarely slows down, Sister Spokesman continues to be a space where Black women and our broader community gather to learn, uplift one another, and grow stronger together. As we close out the year, we invite you to join us for an afternoon dedicated entirely to mental wellness, intentional rest, and the care we so often give to others but forget to reserve for ourselves.

On Saturday, December 6, Sister Spokesman is proud to present Pause. Breathe. Heal., a refreshing, restorative event designed to help you reconnect with peace, balance, and joy. This gathering is more than a program; itโ€™s a moment to exhale, recharge, and surround yourself with community care.

โ€œWe pour so much into our families, our work, and our community. This event is our reminder that rest is not a reward, itโ€™s a necessity. โ€˜Pause. Breathe. Heal.โ€™ is an invitation to reclaim your peace,โ€ said MSR publisher, Tracey Williams-Dillard.

What to expect

At Pause. Breathe. Heal., youโ€™ll step into an atmosphere created with your well-being in mind:

  • A mental health-focused panel featuring community leaders, practitioners, and voices who understand the importance of collective healing
  • Gentle spaces to rest and reflect, giving you permission to slow down
  • Shopping with local vendors offering gifts, self-care products, and holiday finds
  • Music, food, and uplifting conversation to nourish your spirit
  • Games and wellness activities that bring joy back into the moment
  • A community dedicated to compassion, support, and growth

Whether youโ€™re looking to learn, connect, or simply take a breath, this event gives you the space to do so.

Why it matters

You cannot pour from an empty cup.
And taking care of yourself is not selfish; itโ€™s an act of love, protection, and alignment.

This event creates the supportive environment we all deserve:
a place where slowing down is encouraged, where healing is celebrated, and where community reminds us that we donโ€™t have to carry everything alone.

As the year comes to a close, we invite you to give yourself a gift, a few hours of grounding, connection, and renewal.
