Jurassic Quest with Brick Fest Live takes over Minneapolis for one weekend

Jurassic Quest with Brick Fest Live brings animatronic dinosaurs and hands-on brick building together March 6 through 8 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Families looking for interactive, hands-on fun can find two major attractions under one roof March 6 through 8 as Jurassic Quest and Brick Fest Live join forces at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The combined experience, branded as Jurassic Quest with Brick Fest Live, offers access to both events with a single ticket and no time limits, creating a three-day family event centered on science, creativity, and play.

Dinosaurs Roam Indoors

Jurassic Quest brings more than 165 million years of prehistoric history to life with animatronic dinosaurs spanning the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Organizers describe the exhibit as featuring paleontologist-approved, true-to-life dinosaur replicas.

Highlights include:

  • Life-size dinosaurs that move and roar
  • Real fossils, including teeth and horns
  • Live dinosaur shows throughout the day
  • Rideable dinosaurs
  • A large fossil dig area
  • Bounce houses and inflatable attractions
  • A soft play zone for younger children

Families can also participate in a self-guided scavenger hunt known as “The Quest,” where children can earn Jr. Park Ranger recognition while learning about different dinosaur species and eras.

Building Big with Bricks

Brick Fest Live adds a creativity-focused dimension, featuring more than one million building bricks across interactive stations and attractions.

Event features include:

  • A Guinness World Record floor mosaic challenge
  • A giant brick pit with more than 200,000 bricks
  • Life-size brick models
  • Brick Derby races on 35-foot tracks
  • A glow-in-the-dark building zone
  • Multiple hands-on build areas

Guests can also meet builders, participate in challenges, and explore official LEGO merchandise.

STEAM-Focused Family Learning

David Taube, CEO of Family Quest Entertainment, the company behind both events, said the combined experience is designed to make science and engineering accessible through play.

“Dinosaurs and LEGOs are prime entry points to introduce children to so many aspects of science, from biology and geology to engineering,” Taube said in a statement. “By bringing both experiences together, families can explore creativity and learning in one action-packed day.”

Accessibility and Discounts

Organizers are offering discounts for first responders through GovX. A “Lights Down, Sound Down” session will take place Saturday morning before public opening hours, designed for families with children who have special needs.
