Line-Ups & Legacy: A Father's Day Celebration of Black Fatherhood, Health and Community at North Central University

2nd Chance Outreach presents Line-Ups & Legacy on Sunday, June 21 at North Central University's Trask Worship Center in Minneapolis, a theatrical performance set in a neighborhood barbershop exploring generational conversations among African American men about legacy, masculinity and health, with a focus on prostate and colon cancer awareness and a pre-show resource fair beginning at 3 p.m.

This Father’s Day, 2nd Chance Outreach is bringing the community together for an afternoon of live theater, health education, and celebration of Black fatherhood.

Line-Ups & Legacy takes place Sunday, June 21, at North Central University’s Trask Worship Center, 1400 Elliot Ave. S., Minneapolis. A pre-show resource fair begins at 3 p.m. with the show starting at 4 p.m. Tickets range from $11.50 to $31.50.

Guest appearances include Eleanor Pierce as Mablelean and Edith Stokes as Hattie B. Johnson. The show also features Len Jones as Mr. Thomas, William Pierce as Grandpa Johnson, and Fred Steele Jr. as Mr. Earl, alongside De’Sco Hines, Marcus Mays, Jackson Hurst, Jermaine Thomas, Camren Graham, and Lysanis Shebly.

Set in the familiar and trusted setting of a neighborhood barbershop, the theatrical performance explores generational conversations among African American men about legacy, masculinity, and health, with a specific focus on prostate and colon cancer awareness. The production blends live performance with community education in a way that is accessible, entertaining, and meaningful for the whole family.

2nd Chance Outreach proudly recognizes Tommy McNeal and Billy Steele as a Line-Ups & Legacy Award Honorees. Leaders whose dedication, service, and community impact continue to inspire generations, McNeal and Steele will be honored on June 21 as part of the event’s celebration of the men who shape generations.
